Eric Oving of Larive: ”Food Forum can be considered as an excellent platform to position Food Tech Holland towards Indian businesses and during a panel discussion the innovative Dutch technologies for the agro-logistic and the food processing industry were highlighted.”

Food Tech Holland is a consortium of highly innovative Dutch companies operating in the food sector providing for high tech solutions along the supply chain and is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (LNV) and NL Agency. The strength of the Dutch food processing sector lies in its integral approach of food production, processing, cooling techniques, logistics, distribution and storage of a diverse range of food products. The intention of Food Tech Holland is to increase and improve the commercial involvement of Dutch companies in the food processing- and the agro-logistic sector in India.

Some of the companies are already active in the Indian market. “During our visit to Mumbai and Delhi many already existing contacts have been strengthened besides the joint programme”, according to Oving who also knows that the majority of the companies is currently working on concrete propositions for potential orders. “The Dutch companies will have to tailor their technologies to the Indian market, which requires creativity and customized solutions” says Oving.

Shri Sinha welcomed the initiative and also encouraged the Food Tech Holland cluster companies to actively participate in the Indian supply chain, including the Mega Food Parks that the government is promoting to create competitive and large scale food production and processing in the country. Food Tech Holland has expressed its interest in contributing to these developments in the food processing industry in India by sharing its expertise with Indian companies.

The collaboration between Food Tech Holland, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (LNV), NL Agency, Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) and Wageningen University (WUR) offers the opportunity for Dutch companies to successfully enter the Indian market and demonstrates that Dutch food companies stand out in this sector.
