Danone, the leading producer of fresh dairy products, water, early life nutrition and medical nutrition products has signed a Joint Venture agreement with the Thailand-based manufacturer and distributor of innovative beverage products and functional drinks Sappe, to develop, manufacture, market and distribute healthy hydration beverages in Thailand. Danone holds a 75-percent stake in the Joint Venture.
Thailand has the highest per capita consumption of non-alcoholic beverages in Asia and Thai consumers are eager to explore innovative food and beverage products and brands. Danone and Sappe will jointly launch “B’lue” in the Thai market, which is a fruity, vitamin-enhanced beverage that is low in sugar. The product is known as “Mizone” in China. B’lue will be available in three flavours: peach, calamansi and pear.
