Ukrainian market prospect:
Amid revolution and war, Ukraine’s real GDP fell by 15.9% in 2014-15. In 2016 it grew above 2%, following a late surge in agriculture. The government of Volodymyr Groysman was appointed in April 2016. So far, it has proved more a stabilising than a reforming administration. The nationalisation of PrivatBank in December 2016 may have averted a bank crisis, but will add to public debt. Despite Ukraine’s fears, divergent national interests are likely to prevent another reset in US-Russia relations. (Source: The Economist Intelligence Unit 2017)
