Myanmar market prospect:
Democratic reforms will progress under the leadership of de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. Hiccups are to be expected, however, as the army remains politically influential. The multiple centres of power mean that disagreements on policy within the quasi-civilian government, such as on the internal peace process, will persist. On the economy, real GDP growth will average a rapid 8.5% annually in 2017-21, underpinned by strong investment activity, although economic imbalances will build up.
